Murcia

The main sights of the city of Murcia are Cathedral, the Almudí Palace, the Casino, the Romea theatre and the Paseo del Malecón gardens.

Cartagena, less than 30 miles away from the city of Murcia, is the second most important city in the Murcia region. Its main attraction lies in its superb beaches and in the neighbouring beaches of the Mar Menor, the largest natural lagoon in Europe. To the north of the city, magnificent examples of religious art can be found in the shrine of the Holy Cross in Caravaca de la Cruz the shrine of the Virgen de la Esperanza in Calasparra.

Mean temperature in Murcia is around 18º and the city enjoys about 2,800 of sunlight a year, which turn both the city and the region into a veritable paradise.


Sport

Murcia boasts a large number of golf courses, specifically 13 (www.fgolfmurcia.com), most of which located in the vicinity of the Mar Menor, in the municipalities of San Javier, Torre Pacheco and Cartagena.
